Shyheim The Rugged Child x Ross May

Linking up with Shyheim was like breathing air 100! This is a man who was been through everything you could possibly imagine and THEN SOME, came out the other end as humble as pie and just so happens to be an absolute LEGEND in the hip-hop universe. When I heard he was coming to Oceanside, I had to reach out and invite him to get down on some acoustic hip-hop, so that's exactly what I did. it didn't take long until we found the divine alignment in our connection and by the end of the conversation we had already worked out our performance for his tour stop in town at Municipal in Oceanside with Bishop Snow and Supernatural, DJ Symphony, and Daru Jones. We ironed out all the details and then finally met at the venue inside Municipal and hit the homerun like you knew we would!

At this point all we had left to do was to shoot the actual visual performance of the songs we prepared for the acoustic. The Performance at Municipal actually served as a first runthrough of the music and we were well rehearsed by the time we connected the next day at the venue for the actual filming. Bro is so chill too, he slid through in the fresh new gear from the Venue and the energy was UP! Once we got all mic'd up, it was off to the races and the visuals speak for themselves. I've been sitting on the full performance and Interview portion of the session because its so good, I don't want to drop it all on you at once, plus production is all on me so I gotta balance that while meeting the deadlines of life and as you know, life be life'n at the speed of life! anyways, it was the easiest session I've ever filmed to be honest. Shyheim will go down in history as one of the most humble and talented Emcees to come out of the golden era of Hiphop!! For me, to have the opportunity to immortalize his music acoustic has truly been an honor. Stay tuned for more from Shyheim and this session coming soon!
